Learning about Location and Security Validations

Location and Security validations are done in the following order:

  1. User Name
  2. Company
  3. Location

If a User Name has security for All Locations selected, the User can see Jobs and Employees for all locations.

If the User Name does not have Locations selected (by using the Partial List) the User sees only the Jobs and Employees assigned to the locations set up with their User Name.

Employees and Jobs Assigned a Location ID

All Employees and Jobs are assigned a Location ID.

If a Report is being run By Job, WinTeam includes only those Jobs that belong to locations that the User has security to see. If there are employees within the Job that belong to other locations, the User WILL be able to see these records since we would not want an incomplete report.

If a Report is being run By Employee, WinTeam includes only those employees that belong to locations that the User has security to see. If there are Jobs within the employee information that belong to other locations, the User WILL be able to see these records since we would not want an incomplete report.
