Kwantek – COVID-19 Impacts on Background Screenings

Due to COVID-19, there have been impacts to background screenings for both Sterling and Checkr.

Sterling

Sterling has advised that due to limitations on essential workers and anticipated impacts to the U.S. Postal Service, until further notice they are unable to send candidate communications via postal mail, including pre-adverse actions notices, adverse action notices, and disputes. Effective immediately, all candidate communications, including adverse action letters, will be sent via email. If an email address has not been provided for a candidate, the mailing process will be suspended, and Sterling will reach out to the client to identify any necessary email addresses for delivery.

Checkr

Checkr has advised that if a background check is requested that would include a county where they know the court is closed, they will leave it in a pending status for now as it is unknown how long these courts will be closed.
